Sara Lynn Evans, born February 5th,1971 in Booneville, Missouri is a very popular, multi-platinum country artist. Sara seems to have it all... Three loving children, millions of fans, and a career in high gear, but it has not always been that way.

Sara grew up on a farm in New Franklin, Missouri along with seven siblings, so as you can imagine, Sara's family struggled financially a lot. To support her family, Sara sang in bars, PTA meetings, and for anyone else who wanted her to sing all across Missouri. June 21st, 1979 (when Sara was 10), Sara was struck by a car while walking across the street to get the mail. The car was going about 60 miles per hour and Sara was thrown 75-80 feet in the air, and finally came to a stop in a ditch. It was an hour before Sara was at the hospital. Sara was in a coma for two days. After a month, Sara was released from the hospital. Sara had another two long years of theropy, and when the two years were over, Sara started back on the road to pay for the mountain of medical bills, which took ten years to pay. Sara also recorded her first song, I'm Gonna Be, in 1981.

In 1991, Sara and her older brother Matt moved to Nashville to try and get Sara a record deal. Sara and Matt had about $2,500 they saved, which they soon discovered wouldn't last long, so Sara took a job at a local Holiday Inn, where she met another stuggling musician, Craig Schelske. The second Sara saw Craig, she fell in love with him and moved back to Oregon with him, and left her older brother Matt behind. Sara and Craig got married September 25th, 1993.

In 1995, Sara and Craig moved back to Nashville to give Sara's dream another try. Sara met Harland Howard (co- wrote Buck Owens' 1963 hit, "Tiger By The Tail"), and wanted a lady to sing it. Sara sung, and Harland loved it, so he introduced Sara to Joe Galani, which was the founder of RCA records and offered Sara a multi-album deal... which was the biggest record deal offered to a woman in years. Sara later recorded her debut album, Three Chords and the Truth, which was released in 1997. Sara's album was ignored by country radio, and listeners, Sara was devistated and in 1998 released her sophmore album, No Place That Far. This new album contained Sara's first #1 hit with the title track, "No Place That Far." Sara was overjoyed and later found out she was pregnant, which meant no tours, and she was going to have to delay her next album. Sara had her first son, Avery, in 1999. In 2000, Sara recorded her third album titled Born to Fly. The title track on this album, "Born to Fly," won Sara her first award for Music Video of the Year, along with double-platinum certificiation.

Sara's next album, titled Restless, contained her next #1 and the song most people know her by today called "Suds In The Bucket." Sara's next album, Real Fine Place also included another #1 hit with "A Real Fine Place to Start." One of Sara's next singles, called "You'll Always Be My Baby," came out along with a picture book, named after the song.

In 2006, Sara was the first country singer to appear on the hit TV show "Dancing With The Stars," with partner Toni Dovalani. One night, when Sara was dancing on the show, she went back into her dressing room and found her husband, Craig Schelske, committing adultery. Sara later accused Craig of cheating on her with her nanny, and other women. On October 12th, 2006, Sara filed for divorce and in September of 2007, the divorce was granted.

In 2007,Sara released a Greatest Hits album which contained ten of her previous hits and four new songs. Sara says "My Greatest Hits album is like a new beginning for me." Sara plans to go into the recording studio again in Spring of 2008.
